Where DocuSign shines
- Enterprise SSO & advanced workflows
- Hundreds of integrations
- Strong brand recognition

Choose DocuSign instead if…
- Your procurement or security team requires a vendor with SAML SSO, an SLA and its own SOC 2 report
- You need signatures collected in a fixed order, or several parties on one document
- You need the signer's identity verified, or a qualified signature under eIDAS
- You are signing something excluded from ESIGN — a will, a court filing, a deed
Questions people ask
Is esign.website as legally binding as DocuSign?
For a simple electronic signature, yes — both rest on the same statutes, ESIGN and UETA in the US and eIDAS in the EU, and neither gets a legal discount for being electronic. The difference is evidence, not validity: DocuSign can verify a signer's identity and issue qualified signatures under eIDAS, and we do not. For an NDA, a lease or an order form that distinction rarely matters. For a high-value contract where somebody might later deny signing, it does.
Can I move my DocuSign templates over?
No. Our templates are six built-in field layouts (where the signature, date and initials sit) that you apply to your own document. There is no importer and you cannot save your own layouts yet, so a custom DocuSign template means placing the fields by hand each time.
What does DocuSign do that you genuinely cannot?
Sequential signing order, multiple parties on one document, identity verification, SAML SSO, an SLA, and a large integration catalogue. If you need any of those, DocuSign is the right tool and this page is not trying to tell you otherwise.
Why is it so much cheaper?
Because signing runs in your browser rather than on our servers, so the marginal cost of a signature is close to zero. We are not subsidising anything — there is just far less to pay for.
